Politicians Stealing from Americans

If you are reading this, you should know those politicians you adore and idolize, GOATS and RHINOS, have been stealing your money at a breakneck pace. If you’re not reading this, you should. You should know where your money is going.

Do you like paying the banks interest on credit cards? On car loans? On home mortgages? No, you say. Well then, why do you love paying interest on the national debt? Yes, you! You and I are paying interest to the bankers on the national debt. Ugh!

This recent shutdown of the federal government is a good case in point. We saw our heroes posturing to make deals to save us from disaster. Some want DACA, while others want to build a wall on Mexico’s northern border. Did you ever hear any one of them speak to the real root cause of this self-induced debacle? No!

The Root Cause of the Shutdown

The United States of America federal government does not have a budget. As Gomer Pyle would say: Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! The politicians have not given us a budget since 2009. Obama never had a budget after his first year. Now, Trump does not have a budget. The politicians go through a periodic exercise called a Continuing Resolution (CR). Translated, this means allow us to stupidly steal the American taxpayers’ money and spend it on stupid stuff that we like, not what they need.

A continuing resolution (CR) is a type of appropriations legislation. An appropriations bill is a bill that appropriates (gives to, sets aside for) money to specific federal government departments, agencies, and programs.

A License to Steal

Congress appropriates money without a budget. These swindlers decide amongst themselves how they will squander our money. There is no process in place to spend less, or to spend less than incoming revenues. We have awarded these crooks with a License to Steal, much the same as James Bond has a License to Kill. We have given them free rein to run wild over our economy. The GOATS and the RHINOS have trampled it, along with our Constitution and our civil rights.

They solve this problem by raising America’s credit card limit (National Debt Ceiling). This means you and I owe more money to the banks, etc. This means we pay more money in interest to the banks, etc. I don’t like paying interest on loans that I didn’t make. Do you?

“We the People” in our bickering over who is our political idol, or who should be the next political idol, have abdicated our power to these self-serving con artists. Now we are paying interest on more than $20 trillion. That amounts to about $500 billion per year. Think what could happen if that money was in the economy instead of the banks.

The $500 billion paid on interest each year is $500 billion that is drained from the economy that could be used to create products, services, jobs and higher wages. And, reduce our taxes. For those who say the national debt is not important and that we should pay more taxes, I say you are either a socialist or a fool. Or both.

Why Did They Shut Down Our Government?

Congress decided that giving a free pass and money to “Dreamers” was more important to their voting block than to just work on a balanced budget. The GOATS muddied the waters with irrelevant issues which caused the RHINOS to cower in the face of the SSM who labeled them as racists, etc. The end result: a CR which has a three-week time limit. And then we screw it up all over again.

Did any of us suffer because of the shutdown. No, we went on with our daily lives never noticing federal government employees didn’t show up for work. The only people who were hurt were our brave military and their families. But then, Congress has a well-known record of screwing them. Congress didn’t lose pay and they are shut down for about half of each year. Getting the picture?

We have become weak and willing to accept this as the “New Normal.” One person cannot purify this hideous immorality. It will take a majority of the more than 320 million American citizens to “Drain the Congressional Swamp.”

Finally, an author who brings you solutions, instead of problems.

Americans have lost faith in their overreaching federal government. “We the People” don’t need to be overregulated or have their taxes misspent. Americans are victims of a crumbling economy, high prices and stagnant wages. They view government as bloated and politicians as corrupt.

They do not trust the leadership at any level. They see politicians of both parties as self-centered narcissists whose only objective is re-election. The author is like you, with one principal difference and 20 reasons for optimism. His “Vision” of America is “clear.” It is a vision of the Constitution and America the way it could be, the way it should be. The author’s eyesight is twenty-twenty.
