The Worst Money Can Buy

A year ago, I was invited to speak at the campus of Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. I was greeted and welcomed by Faith Doski, the President of the Republican Club, and several others. They were attired in dresses and business suits or classroom attire. The professionalism, grace and class exhibited by these young students was truly uplifting.

Contrast my experience with that of the disgraceful exhibition at the University of California Berkeley campus when Milo Yiannopoulos, a British journalist, author, entrepreneur, public speaker, and senior editor for Breitbart News, was scheduled to speak. Protests that resembled organized riots ensued and the result was destruction of property and assaults on fellow students.

Milo Yiannopoulos argues, “The left is terrified of free speech.” He was labeled a White supremacist and many more despicable names. Do I have this right? Calling people names is considered free speech? His speech was cancelled to the detriment of the students who missed an opportunity to hear a different point of view. Isn’t that what higher learning is all about? Being exposed to critical thinking? Not at Berkeley. No way.

These tiny thinking barbarians felt an opposing view threatened their safe space, therefore they retaliated in the only way they know how – throwing 2-year-old style temper tantrums. That my dear readers is the result of their college education. And some want them to have free education? To do what? Learn how to better burn automobiles and enhanced window breaking techniques? To start fires and destroy stuff? Free education is a bad idea. Student loans a worse idea.

The contrary view is that the left has embraced free speech in protesting racist, bigoted, fascist and misogynistic views. It is not only their 1st Amendment right, but their patriotic duty. So, they say.

Judith Barden of Long Beach wrote, “imagine inviting a hooded Ku Klux Klan member to address a publicly funded institution like UC Berkeley. Yiannopoulos, sans hood, is just that.” Really Judith? How do you know that? Or are you just parroting the words of the GOATs? After reading that statement, you might be a GOAT.

The Free Speech Movement has gradually become a “Freedom from Speech Movement.” Protection of the constitutional right to speak has been thrown out of the broken windows in Berkeley. Speech has been sacrificed to a new modern ideal: protection from hearing speech that runs contrary to the closely held views of those who are certainly entitled to their opinions, but are not entitled to restrict the free speech of others.

The University of California, Berkeley violent far left rioters and goons shut the speech down. The self-proclaimed “home of the free speech movement” gave conservatives a Nazi style beat-down that night. These progressive thugs started fires, assaulted women, beat Trump supporters unconscious, raided ATMs, shot off fireworks and destroyed private property.

The left-wing group that helped organize the violent shut down of the Milo Yiannopoulos event at the University of California, Berkeley was backed by a progressive charity that is in turn funded by George Soros, the city of Tucson, a major labor union and several large companies.

Just who are these leftists? Are they a new phenomenon? No, they are a copycat version of Adolf Hitler's party, the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National-Socialist German Workers' Party; NSDAP). The shorthand Nazi was formed from the first two syllables of the German pronunciation of the word "national.”

Wait a minute. The MSM states that right-wingers are Nazis. How can this be? We need a very simple definition. Total right-wind ideology would be complete freedom from all government. The Nazis were all about dictatorship, totalitarianism, autocracy, and a one-party state.

Doesn’t that reflect the current left-wing socialist party the Democrats are striving to be? Aren’t you grateful I cleared that up.

Finally, an author who brings you solutions, instead of problems.

Americans have lost faith in their overreaching federal government. “We the People” don’t need to be overregulated or have their taxes misspent. Americans are victims of a crumbling economy, high prices and stagnant wages. They view government as bloated and politicians as corrupt.

They do not trust the leadership at any level. They see politicians of both parties as self-centered narcissists whose only objective is re-election. The author is like you, with one principal difference and 20 reasons for optimism. His “Vision” of America is “clear.” It is a vision of the Constitution and America the way it could be, the way it should be. The author’s eyesight is twenty-twenty.
