44 – We Never Knew You

While watching TV, and reading the hype about the great lovefest of the last eight years, I decided to examine the major issues to determine the real facts. I’ll present those in my next article, although I’m believe we know them all by now. I’m confident this will not be a well-received article by some, but hey, the story is straight from the self-centered mouth.

Outgoing President Barak Obama, the US 44th president gave his “Farewell Speech” on Tuesday night in Chicago. He opened by saying:

It’s good to be home...My fellow Americans, Michelle and I have been so touched by all the well-wishes we’ve received over the past few weeks.  But tonight, tonight it’s my turn to say thanks.  Whether we’ve seen eye-to-eye or rarely agreed at all, my conversations with you, the American people – in living rooms and in schools; at farms, on factory floors; at diners and on distant military outposts – those conversations are what have kept me honest, and kept me inspired, and kept me going.  And every day, I learned from you. You made me a better President, and you made me a better man.

As a young officer in the USMC, I learned never to use the word “I.” Never to think of myself as the most important person. We do not accomplish success by ourselves. We are a team that utilizes a process. No individuals allowed. Period.

President Obama referred to himself 75 times in his farewell address Tuesday night. More than Marines refer to themselves in a career.

Obama appeared in a promotional video, wrote a blog post and heavily promoted his Farewell Address. Did he really need to do that? We’ve watched him for eight years. We have a President-Elect who will be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.

Obama said the word “I” 33 times during the speech, “my” 20 times, “me” 10 times, and “I’m” or “I’ve” 12 times. Compare this to the 45 times he referred to himself during his memorial speech for fallen Dallas Police Officers. It’s all about him. Always was and always will be. Never about “We the people.”

What’s the Point? Who Cares?

I, for one, care. I hope my readers will comment one way or another after reading this article. True leaders don’t refer to themselves. They talk about the vision. The goal. The team. They praise the accomplishments of others.

The 44th president made a habit of focusing large chunks of his narcissistic speeches on himself during his eight years in office. Every speech. Check it out. Narcissism is not a trait of leadership. It is a trait of a self-love, egotism, conceit, selfishness, self-centeredness and self-admiration. These traits are the direct opposite of leadership.

President Obama is not a leader. Period. He had 8 years to demonstrate leadership. He failed at every juncture as evidenced by his continued overuse of the egocentric word “I.” The Farewell Address continues with more familiar rhetoric:

So I first came to Chicago when I was in my early twenties, and I was still trying to figure out who I was; still searching for a purpose in my life.  It was the neighborhood not far from here where I began working with church groups in the shadows of closed steel mills. It was on these streets where I witnessed the power of faith, and the quiet dignity of working people in the face of struggle and loss.

Guess what Mister President? We’re still trying to figure out who you are. What we know so far is this. Nothing. Nil. Nada. Zero. No one has stepped forward to claim they knew you in college or in law school. You rarely cast a vote as a state or US Senator. But, and there is always a but, you were “present.” No one knew you before you became president and now all we know is you are a self-centered boob who cannot speak intelligently unless you stand behind a teleprompter.

Has anyone counted the number of times you used the words “uh” or “er” when you had to speak without a teleprompter? Probably equals or exceeds your use of the word “I.” What does that tell us about you? What does that tell us about a person who has said nothing more meaningful than “I’ or “er” for the past 8 years? A person who has now knowledge. No facts. No conviction.

Who are you? Are you truly the “Manchurian Candidate?”

We know Obama has prosecuted more whistleblowers than all other presidents combined. We know Obama has centralized federal power more than any other president. We know the Obama Administration has produced more than 100,000 pages of regulations in the past 8 years.

Fortunately for you, the AOS (Obama Adoration Society) is in total denial and will defend you until their dying days. Unfortunately for us deplorable non-believers, they remain delusional as their only defense is their defensiveness, and their deflection that others are worse. Really?

Bill-Buckler-Bio-01-1

Finally, an author who brings you solutions, instead of problems.

Americans have lost faith in their overreaching federal government. “We the People” don’t need to be overregulated or have their taxes misspent. Americans are victims of a crumbling economy, high prices and stagnant wages. They view government as bloated and politicians as corrupt.

They do not trust the leadership at any level. They see politicians of both parties as self-centered narcissists whose only objective is re-election. The author is like you, with one principal difference and 20 reasons for optimism. His “Vision” of America is “clear.” It is a vision of the Constitution and America the way it could be, the way it should be. The author’s eyesight is twenty-twenty.

Thank you so much for writing a comment on my post .I truly appreciate each and every one.

The point I attempted to make was the “Farewell Speech” was similar and indicative to his previous speeches which centered on “me, myself and I” to a point where the man could not be gracious enough to leave the White House without it still being all about his narcissistic self. Never about the country or “We the People.”

Perhaps if you left your name on the reply, I could discuss this with your further. I find that I learn so many interesting points of view when I have dialogue with my readers. It is the foundation of my books and my articles whereby people have dialogue.
